Helping to ensure the safety of mariners and people using the beaches and cliff walks in Sheringham

Where are we?

Sheringham Coastwatch operates from the old coastguard lookout on Skelding Hill (52° 56.7’ N 001° 12.0’ E)
At 170ft above sea level, the watch tower has a commanding view extending 15 miles out to sea.

When do we operate?

Our volunteers are on watch seven days a week, 365 days a year from:

08:30 - 16:00 (GMT) in the winter
08:30 - 18:00 (BST) in the summer

As our primary purpose is to maintain a visual watch over the coastline, we can only operate during daylight hours.
